Henry Vaughan, a noted Gothic revivalist and one of the original architects of the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., modeled the church structure after a 14th-century English Country church. With wooden vaulting rising nearly 70 feet above a marble floor, the church is exceptional from an acoustical standpoint. Over the years, a number of professional recordings have been made here.
